The Ski Report

I have been out in the mornings climbing up the ski runs on Crested Butte Mountain.  I can honestly say the skiing is pretty darn good.  CBMR did an excellent job of covering the runs with quality man made snow . Quality means no ice on the runs.  In the old  days man made snow meant patches of stainless steel hard snow that when skied over put you into a funky chicken , arms flapping, bent at the elbows trying to deal with the extreme acceleration.   A quality base was in place  when we received @ 45 inches of snow in the last 5 days, the perfect scenario.

Also the nordic skiing is spectacular with the trails open all the way out to Gunsight Pass.

With all the good restaurants, shops and excellent skiing, Crested Butte truly is the last great ski town.

Period.

If you want to debate this come by the shop.

Have an excellent holiday season.

Brian
